What is cosmetic tattooing?

Pigment is implanted into the upper dermal layer of skin, using a cosmetic tattoo machine. It is not to be confused with traditional tattooing which is permanent and different pigments are used. Cosmetic tattooing is a multi step process, you come for your first treatment and then 6 weeks later come for your second treatment. This is to ensure that the pigment is implanted evenly into the skin, you can also then decide if you would like your eyeliner thicker, or your brows lengthened, thickened or darker. Michelle is able to create fabulous eyeliner and specializes in hairstroke brows to achieve a natural look .

How long will it last?

Your cosmetic tattoo will fade over time, every individual is different when it comes to how long the colour will last. It can be anywhere from 2-5 years. I highly recommend a refresher treatment between 1-2 years.

Will it hurt?

Topical anesthetics are used before and during the procedure, discomfort should be minimal depending on the individual. Some clients says it's like a tickling sensation, others will say they feel nothing at all. Some people process anesthetic quickly which can then lead to the procedure being slightly painful.

Can I choose the colours?

Yes you can choose the colours, although Michelle will help you determine the right colour for your skin tone during the consultation.

How do I look after my cosmetic tattoo enhancement?

Full aftercare instructions are provided after your treatment along with healing cream, your follow-up appointment is also booked for 6 weeks time. If you are outdoors in summer alot it will pay to wear a sunscreen, or moisturizer with sunscreen to protect your eyebrows from fading. The aftercare instructions also has a list of skincare products with certain ingredients that you should avoid to minimize fading.

If you are at all worried about getting a cosmetic tattoo procedure, please don't hesitate to give Michelle a call. No question is silly, and Michelle will take the time to answer any questions you may have.
